JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) – Entering the end of 2024, IPC Terminal Petikemas/IPC TPK, a subsidiary of Subholding Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, again recorded growth in the flow of goods in all work areas of 280,509 TEUs, an increase of 15.50% compared to the same period in the previous year of 242,862 TEUs.
Cumulatively, there was an increase in container loading and unloading throughout the period January - November 2024 of 2,885,249 TEUs, an increase of 8.6% compared to the same period the previous year of 2,656,646 TEUs.
"To anticipate the surge in the flow of goods towards the end of the year, we ensure readiness from the operational side, traffic management inside and outside the Port, monitoring weather conditions and establishing intensive communication with port stakeholders for the smooth loading and unloading process," said Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary & External Relations of IPC TPK.
The growth in container flow was triggered by the increasing proportion of containers in the Palembang Area, the growth of export cargo with cassia vera commodities by 470.59%, gambier by 200%, cocoa by 100% and perlite commodities by 550% in the West Sumatra region and the increase in full load cargo from Jakarta to Teluk Bayur by 10.38%.
IPC TPK as one of the container terminal operators in Indonesia encourages transformation and optimization of Planning & Control- based services . In November 2024, IPC TPK launched the use of TOS Nusantara to support container loading and unloading services at IPC TPK Teluk Bayur Area. The basis of the Terminal Operating System uses a website that can be accessed anywhere and anytime to facilitate services both from the terminal side and service users.
"Digitalization and transformation of operational services carried out by IPC TPK can have an impact on reducing port stays and cargo stays to reduce logistics costs and provide added value for stakeholders," Pramestie concluded.
