JAKARTA (ISL News) - In the 3rd quarter of the year 2024 PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 or Pelindo Regional 2 as a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) in the field of port and logistics services showed positive performance, where in consolidation the positive trend was in container flow and passenger flow.
Executive Director 2 Pelindo Regional 2, Drajat Sulistyo said that in the 3rd quarter of 2024 Pelindo Regional 2 recorded an increase in operational performance in container flow, and passenger flow when compared to the same period in 2023.
For the performance of container flow in the 3rd quarter of 2024 in Regional 2 had 4.5 million boxes or grew 5.4% from the total in 2023 which amounted to 4.2 million boxes, with a total of 6.3 million TEUs or grew 5.8% from the total in 2023 with 5.9 million TEUs. The increase in container flow is due to an increase in container visits at the Tanjung Priok Branch, the more container ship visits compared to last year at Regional 2 Container Ports and the entry of several new shipping companies.
Meanwhile, the passenger flow showed an increase of 10.6% in the 3rd quarter of 2024 with a total of 912 thousand passengers compared to the 3rd quarter of 2023 which amounted to 828 thousand passengers.
“The increase in passenger flow is due to the increasing volume of Cruise ship visits at the Tanjung Priok Branch.” said Drajat
Drajat added, the increase in operational performance is one of the results of digitalization in Pelindo’s logistics management system that is integrated with stakeholders and service users, so it can optimize the loading and unloading process of goods and reduce port stay or ship berthing time at the port.
For Pelindo Regional 2, efforts to shorten the port stays of ships at the port will have an impact on increasing effectiveness and efficiency in operational services and this will also provide benefits to customers to get even greater business opportunities, Drajat’s final words.
