JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT Indonesian Classification Bureau (Persero) as the Lead Holding of the BUMN Survey Services "IDSurvey" together with the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) collaborates in maintaining state ships in order to achieve shipping safety and security as well as protecting the maritime environment.
The signing of this cooperation agreement was carried out by the Director General of Sea Transportation, represented by the Director of Navigation, Capt. Budi Mantoro and the Main Director of PT Indonesian Classification Bureau (Persero), Arisudono Soerono on May 3 2024 at the Sriwijaya Room, Ministry of Transportation Office.
"Through the Directorate of Navigation, a cooperation agreement has been signed with PT Indonesian Classification Bureau (Persero) regarding Survey Services, Classification Certification, Consultation and Surveying for the Maintenance of Navigational State Ships," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, Lollan Panjaitan.
President Director of PT BKI (Persero), Arisudono Soerono said that BKI as a BUMN has the task of "Agent of Development" which is realized through ongoing development and always supporting the government's efforts to improve Indonesia's maritime ecosystem, said Arisudono Soerono, President Director of PT BKI (Persero).
"As an ongoing program, it is hoped that BKI can be involved in national maritime programs as a government partner. In line with plans to improve the safety of domestic vessels, BKI is actively involved in developing regulations and tools to accommodate the needs of domestic shipping vessels," said Arisuono Soerono, President Director of PT BKI (Persero).
"Therefore, cooperation with credible institutions is needed to carry out these activities, both the classification of navigational state ships and the planning and supervision of the docking of navigational state ships," said Capt. Budi.
