KEPULAUAN SERIBU INDONESIA (ISL News) – Last Friday, November 22, 2024, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Tanjung Priok through the Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL) program in collaboration with the Central Board of Islamic Propagation Development (PPDI) Pelindo in the Maziska sector carried out social service activities and installed fish aggregating devices (FADs) on Pramuka Island and Panggang Island.
Social services were carried out by providing assistance to 100 orphans and the poor as a form of distributing Pelindo employees' alms and donations and helping to empower the fishermen's economy by installing 30 artificial fish aggregating devices.
Present at the event were representatives of the management of PT Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, HR, General and KBL Manager Lukman Salamudin, Head of Maziska PPDI Pelindo Ishaq Marzuki, Secretary of Panggang Island Village, community leaders, and local residents.
In his speech, Lukman Salamudin said that the collaboration between Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok and PPDI Maziska is expected to provide benefits for fishermen in the Seribu Islands and the installation of artificial fish aggregating devices can be an alternative area for fishermen to fish other than going to the open sea.
"Hopefully the fishing communities of Pramuka Island and Panggang Island can experience a better life with this assistance," concluded Lukman.
