JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) - Without realizing it, the city of Jakarta will enter its 500th year or 5th century, in the city of Jakarta there are several historical relics that we can still see and feel until now, one of which is the port of the Dutch colonial era, namely the Sunda Kelapa port located on Jl. Raya Baruna Jl. Tol Pelabuhan No.8 11, RT.11/RW.8, Ancol, Kec. Pademangan, North Jakarta which is one of the port branches of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2.
Sunda Kelapa Harbor, which has existed since the Dutch colonial era, is not only an inter-island transportation harbor, but now also functions as a public shipping harbor and tourist area. This harbor is often visited by inter-island ships and public shipping ships using Phinisi or Bugis Schooner ships with their distinctive shapes.
The commodities transported by ships that stop include wood, basic necessities, groceries, and building materials, and so on, for example, many basic commodities such as basic necessities and industrial products are sent from Java to Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Maluku, and Papua via Sunda Kelapa Port. Likewise, many commodities from outside Java are sent to Java via this port such as wood, coffee, rattan, copra, fishery products, and so on.
